ADELAIDE, This Day.

Drastic cuts in Civil Service salaries are proposed by the State Government in an effort to balance its Budget. From £300 to £800 a year a graduated scale will apply, and beyond that the amount of the rate will be drastic. A salary of £1000 would be reduced by nearly 25 per cent. The rate of tho wages tax has not yet been decided, but it is stated to be likoly to be Is in the £.
