AGAINST MR. THEODORE

QUEENSLAND LEGISLATION

BRISBANE, This Day.

The storm over tho Mungana Inquiry broke in tho Queensland Parliament when the Attorney-General, Mr. MacGroarty, moved for the introduction of a Bill to amend tho Crown Bemedies Act of 1874. He stated that the reason why Mr. E. G. Theodore had not been criminally prosecuted was that the evidence given before the Eoyal Commission could not be used in criminal proceedings. The Government was now introducing legislation to amend the law so that civil action might be takon. The Bill was read a first time.
