SOUND IF AMENDED
Asked what he thought of the proposal to opposo the Unemployment Bill unless it is amended in accordance with the statements, made by the Alliance of Labour yesterday, Mr. W. Bromley, president of the Unemployed Committee, said that the recent conference which considered .the Bill was defi-. nitely not satisfied that its presefnted form was its most efficient' form. "A number of amendments which we think are improvements have been suggested to the special, committee, but at no stage did the conference suggest that we should oppose the Bill in its'entirety! There is everything to be .'said for a graduated systeni of payments into the fund.. It ia not in .the best;, interests of the country that a worker on a low wage should be asked to1 pay the same : into the £an# as a person with an in-; come of £10,000. Personally, I hope that this session will see the TXnemploy-' ment Bill, in one form or'another, an established fact." . . :
