POUND NOTES AT BARGAIN PRICES.
The Australian. Press Association reported that Barclay's Bank, after a fortnight's embargo, resumed purchasing Australian pound notes for 18s each. The bank told an inquirer that he could dispose of all he could bring, but the Commonwealth Bank's inquiries have revealed that the traffic iv the notes is, negligible in quantity,, owing to the latter bank'i recent action in stopping their purchase, which checked the supply, as intended, Jt is understood that there are a few thousands sterling worth floating round the Continent, but Barclay's Bank would soon close down on their purchase if any such quantities were offered.
