THE NEW TITLE HOLDERS

The New Zealand amateur boxing championships were brought to a successful conclusion at the Opera House on Saturday evening before a fair attendance. The finals were full of interest and the standard oi' boxing was high. G. Gardner, of Christchurch, the heavy-weight champion, was the only boxer who retained his title.

The Jamieson Belt for the most scienti« fie boxer vas awarded to K. Pvtrdie, the Auckland feather-weight. The Morgan Gup, for welter-weight champion, was won by A. Lowe, Otago. The Manawatu Association's medical officers' trophy for the best loser was awarded to D. Roebuck, the Taranaki fly-weight. The following are Saturday's results:— SEMI-FINALS. Welter-weight.—A.
