Tho full amount claimed, £1000 general damages and £59 19s. 6d special damages, was to-day awarded by the jury to Georgo Hunter Smart, plumber, of Wellington, in his action in the Supremo Court against Dovina Elsie Aitken, owner, and John Aitken, driver of a motor-lorry involved in a collision with plaintiff's car. The accident occurred on 22nd December, and as tx result Smart lost an eye. Counsel for tho defendants intimated that lie would consider moving for a new .trial on tho grounds that the damages were excessive.
