PEOSPECTS GOOD
_^_ WEEK-END WEATHER At present there is no indication of the comparatively settled weather of the last few days giving way. New Zealand and a wide area on each side is covered by an extensive anti-cyclone. The week-end forecast is for variable winds, with moderate uortherlies prevailing, and freshening later. Fine weather should bo general at first, with mild temperatures, but later on scattered showers in northern and western districts may be expected. Yesterday's weather in most districts was pleasantly fine, but the variable breezes brought about an increase in cloud: at times. Light showers fell at isolated places, • especially on tho East Coast. Auckland experienced a fine but cloudy day, with a south-west breeze. The night was cool, and clear. It was somewhat dull in Wellington, there being very little wind. Light rain fell during the evening. Dull skies with occasional misty rain was the lot of Christchurch, but in Duuedin it was beautifully fine.
