«. ~ THEIR ANNUAL CONFERENCE The annual conference of the United New Zealand Licensed Victuallers' Association was held in Palmerston North yesterday, when Mr. James M'Parland (president), Wellington, presided over a large attendance. The chairman said that this was the second occasion on which the annual meeting had been held away from Wellington, and whilst he considered that Wellington was the natural centre for a Dominion conference the representative attendance made him think Palmerston North was a rival for centralisation. The question of a Dominion retail price list was discussed, and it was decided to suspend any definite recommendations to the previous branches until negotiations- that werejiu progress were finalised, and in the meantime the present prices would operate. The election of officers, resulted in the following being elected for the ensuing year: President, Mr. J. M'Parland (Wellington); vice-presidents, Messrs. J. T. Young (Dunedin), P. Brodie (Auckland), P. J. Griffin (Wellington); executive, Messrs. F. Keating (Buller), P. Finlayson (Patea). K. Nash (Canterbury), B. Aislabie (Gisborne), T. Heath (Hawkes Bay), F.
