COMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

QUESTION ABOUT DATES

Next Friday's meeting of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association will have before it a proposal to rescind the resolution passed which provides-that the championships shall not. be held earlier than mid-January. . . . .

The Management Committee is of the opinion that the selection of dates for the championships in the three centres—Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch— should be governed by the conditions usually prevailing in those centres during the months of December, January, and February, and has, accordingly, given notice of motion to rescind the resolution which at present limits the selection of suitable dates. The Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association proposes to hold the New Zealand championships on the Wilding Park Courts on 26th, 27th, 29th, 30th, and 31st December, provided that the resolution above referred to is rescinded.
