MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. T. B. M'Neil, S.M., presided over a sitting of the Magistrate's Court to-day. A remand until Monday was granted in the case of T. Hayward, alias Thirtwall King Hayward, salesman, aged 30, who appeared on'a charge of .failing to account for the sum of £.20 to Used Cars, Ltd., Newmarket. Bail was allowed in one amount of £50 and one surety of £50. Charged with the theft of an overcoat valued at £3 15s, the property of Joseph Lee, Bobert Baden-Powell, labourer, aged 30, was admitted to probation for a period of twelve months. The overcoat had mot been recovered, and the accused was ordered to make restitution. William Wade, labourer, was fined £1, in default seven days' imprisonment, for his fourth offence of drunkenness.
