OTAGO HIGH SCHOOLS

DUNEDIN, 20th August, •It was decided by tho Otago High School ?s Board of Governors to-day to hold a special meeting to consider the education report and to ask the rector, Mr. W.. J. Morroll, to present an analysis of tho report. It was also decided to write to members of Parliament supporting the contentions put forward by the Auckland Grammar School Board of Governors.

The secretary of tbe board said lie had received a telegram from the' Minister of .Education (tho Hon. H. Atmore) stating that after tho final portion of the report had been presented to the House he would bo pleased to give'his approval to the holding of a conference of secondary school boards in order -that members might have an opportunity of considering the recommendations contained in the report. Members of the board .expressed the hope that no part of the report would be put into operation until delegates from the secondary school boards had met in conference and considered the report.

It was decided to forward this expression of opinion to the Minister.
