NOT BEING KE-COMMISSIONED

On Saturday evening and throughout yesterday it was freely stated that the intercolonial steamer Marama, which has been laid up at the Clyde Quay Wharf during1 the past five weeks, owing to the falling off in the intercolonial passenger service, was being prepared for the sea. The rumour had some foundation, as at one stage steps were being taken to get a crew together and have the ship prepared, but it was later decided that sho would not be recontmisaioned.
