THE MAILS
The' "Tahiti was carrying about 900 bags of mail and parcels, of which thirty came across from Sydney and the remainder went on board at Wellington. Every effort was being made to tranship the mail. x
The G.P.O. stated this afternoon that they were still waiting for word of the transfer of the mails. Some of the mails had been transferred, and the Department was hoping to got particulars shortly. The vessel left Wellington with a general cargo of about 500 tons for the islands and San Francisco. She- was also carrying, of course, a fairly heavy supply of fuel-oil for the passage to San Francisco.
