ASHBURTON, 16th August, ' Ashburton (11) beat" South Canterbury (6) to-day. Forward play predominated in an even match. The first half was' fast and interesting, but the second was quiet, with numerous infringements in the scrum.. Ashburton scored three tries, one'of which was converted. South Canterbury scored two tries.
