FREEMAN TAKES ALL TEN

LAST YEAR'S FEAT REPEATED

LONDON, loth August.

Freeman, who took all ten wickets against Lancashire last year, repeated the feat against Essex. The only player in first-class cricket to equal this was V. Walker at the Oval in 1859 and at Manchester in 1865.

Kent v. Essex.—Kent, first innings, 122 (Fames, five for 36); second innings, 422 for nine, declared (Crawley 175). Essex, first, 145 (Freeman, ten for 53); second innings) 122 (Freeman, six for 41). Kent won by 277 runs.

Surrey v. Gloucester.—Mrst innings, 79 (Parker, eight for 38), and second innings, 155 (Parker, seven for 53). Gloucester, first innings, 349 for eight, declared (Moore 98, Dacre 92, Fender; five for 61). Gloucester won by an innings and 115 runs.

Northants v. Notts.—Northants, first innings, 405 (Bakewell 105, Cox 104); second innings, 128 for two. Notts, first innings, 484 (Whysall 248). Notts won on the first innings.

Glamorgan v. Yorkshire. —Glamorgan, first innings, 209 (Bell 86); second inningß, 332 for five, declared (Bates 146). Yorkshire, first innings, 284 for three, declared (Holmes 130, Sutcliffe 138 not out); second innings, 65 for none. Yorkshire won on the first innings.

Middlesex v. Hampshire.—Middlesex, First innings, 324 for seven, declared (Carris 61); second, 120. Hampshire, first innings, 191, and second innings 260 for nine (Arnold 79). Hampshire won by one wicket.

Leicester v. Lancashire.—Loicester, first innings, 111 (Macdonald, five for 44); second innings (B. Tyldesloy, eight for 35). Lancashire, first innings, 292 for six, declared (E. Tyldesley, 151 not out). Lancashire won by an innings and 78 runs.

Warwick v. Somerset.—Warwick, first innings, 185; second innings, 145. Somerset, first innings, 145; second innings, five for 189. Somerset won by five wickets.
