THEFT OF GOODS
PEOBATION NOT GRANTED
A sentence of three months' imprisoument was imposed on William Sinclair, electrician, aged '23, by Mr. E. Page, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day on a charge of stealing two photo-elec-tric cells, au electric pick-up, and a periscope, of a total value of £45, the property of Reproducer Systems, Ltd., Auckland. .
Sinclair, who was represented by Mr. B. A. Keesing, pleaded guilty.
Detective-Sergeant Holmes said that the accused was employed in Auckland by Reproducer Systems, Ltd. He left their employ and it was: after he had gone that the firm learnt that he was in possession of some of its goods. Mr. Keesing said he wished to make a strong plea for probation. The accused was in employment, and if he was given his liberty his position wonld otill be open for him. » . Mr. Page said the accused did not appear, to have learned his lesson, as he had previously been admitted to< probation;- '-'-:- '■■■.-:■ "' - ■■'■■•
