ESPERANTO CLUB
The weekly raeetiug of the Wellington Esperanto Club took place last night in the V.M.C.A., Mr. E. C. Jack presiding. Tuition classes occupied the first portion of the evening, after which an enjoyable programme was presented. Miss Coralie Smythson gave a: talk in Esperanto on "La Best Regno," which was followed by a reading in the international language—^"Kion Janko Faris"—by Mrs. 11. M.' Steffens. An original monologue in Esperanto, entitled "La Negocisto diktas Leteron" was presented by the club secretary, Mr. Bertram Potts. Miss K. M. Steffens gave a reading in Esperanto on "Bona Konsilo," after which the treasurer, Mr. L. E. Dust, addressed the club on "La Astronoma Signifo de la Luno," with blackboard diagrams. An original onescene comedy, "Sereante Logdomon" was presented in Esperanto by Misses E. Duguid, G. Carty, and X.. M. Steffens. This was followed by another original onescene comedy entitled "La Domo de Shakespeare," the parts being played by Miss Coralie Smythson, Messrs. L. E. Dust, and Bertram Potts. The concluding items consisted of a talk iv Esperanto by Mr. Jack on ''La Bildo," and an explanation by the secretary on "Certain Points of Pronunciation."
