On Monday evening Their Excellencies the Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe witnessed the private screening of the film "With. Byrd at the South Pole"— tho first motion picture shown at Government House—and were greatly impressed by this fine record of the brave adventures in the Antarctic of Kear-Adiniral Byrd and his companions. At the conclusion of the picture, His Excellency paid a warm tribute to .the famous explorer, who successfully overcame the perils so graphically depicted on the screen. In thanking Paramount Pictures and the Western Electric organisation, Lord Bledisloe commented on the remarkable photography of the production, and the excellent portrayal of the many incidents of human daring on the part of the members of the expedition during their two years' sojourn in South Polar regions.
