Tom Alley, the light-heavy-weight champion of the world, arrived by the Limited express from Auckland this morning feeling fit and well and quite confident of gaining a victory over Scotty M'Dougall, the "wild tiger matman," in the wrestling match at the Town Hall this evening. In his big bout with "The Terrible Turk" in Auckland on Saturday Alley received slight injury to one of his knees, and as a result he will enter the ring to-night with a thick rubber bandage over the knee, which his doctor has ordered him to wear. Alley was to have left Auckland on Sunday, but ho stayed behind until the following day so as to receive treatment from a specialist. He states he intends to ride M'Dougall, who will weigh about a stone heavier all the way in the big contest tonight, and that the "wild tiger" matman will never catch him. Alley beat M'Dougall in Auckland recently, but the latter pays ho will turn the.tables this rvcuiujf. The bout should" be"' iV thrilling 'oho.
