CLAY BIRD SHOOTING
DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHEISTCHURCH, sth August. The twenty-ninth sweepstake clay pigeon match for the championship of New Zealand, was held under the auspices of the North Cantotbury Gun Club, at Rangiora, to-day. The winner was S. Anderson, of Mcthven. There were 37 entries, and the prizemoney was divided among six competitors, who tied, all on. Anderson won tho shootoff. The six quulifying were E. Auderson, D. Davidson (Culverden), T. Wriglcy (Levin), J. Winchester (Ellesmcre), 11. Grennell (Christchurch), C. Seddon (Hamilton). The conditions were 21 birds off 18 yards. The match was fired in a dull light, with a heavy sou-west wind and ceaseless rain. Anderson shot all 21 birds, and in the shoof^off won at the 20th bird, so. that the winner shot 41 birds straight.
