KEENNESS IN AUCKLAND
The montlily meeting, of tlte Council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association- was held last evening, Mr. 11. Austad presiding.. . ■ ■
Affiliation was grunted to tho Now Plymouth Harrier Club.
The time registered. by the Canterbury team in the one mile medley relay at tho New Zealand championship meeting at Wanganui in March was recognised as equalling the standard.
The following reinstatements were approved: A. G. Taylor (Wangauui), A. Barnes (Wanganui). ■' Pleasure at the keenness being shown by athletes and officials in Auckland was expressed by the chairman, who referred to a small meeting—one of the winter aeries—held on the Domain on Saturday at which he was present. Provision was made for' sprinters, distance runners, and field events men. "It was a. very, fine spectacle," said Mr. Austad, "to see 25 starters in a sprint event in the middle of winter." A very commendable system was in operation for the field events, in which practically everybody took part, including officials and some who had reached the veteran .stage. .
