CAVERSHAM ' CLUB'S RECORD (By Telegraph.) ; (Special to "The Evening Post.") DTOfEDIN, This Day. Probably no harrier club in Duhedin ha,s the record in big cross-country events.,that is possessed by the Caversham Club, here, and it is safe ,to assert that no.one club has produced more outstanding performers in the New Zealand cross-country championship, Caversham haying in its rank's two who have New.Zealand titles and one who was runner-up last year. ' T.he .club has' an exceptionally strong team, and, in a field-of 15S' it provided the .winning six-in the recent Edmond Cup three-mile steeplechase, J.J. Morris, the runner-up, in the- last New Zealand crosscountry, championship, being ■ second. The same: combination accounted for the Kennett Cup steeplechase in Christchurch last week-end in opposition. to-teams from Canterbury and Wellington. The race winner was J. J. Morris, who ran with very sound judgment, showing much improved | torm on that displayed in the Edmoild Cup race. .Morris is expected to be hard to beat in.the Otago cross-country championship, in which one of the most representative fields for years will be competing on 16th August, including'such'tried men as J. Lovelock, J. W. Tapp J. G. Barnes (present holder of the Canterbury distance and ■ cross-country titles) J H M'Laren, E. C. Brown, E. Lr Brown (who is the former New.
