A DOMINION "DAY
WINNERS AT EANDWICK
Saturday at Bandwiek saw two exAwapuni horses score in Home Made and Crown. Area. Home Made, when carrying the Commendation colours, showed more pace on more than one occasion than the average jumper, and it was surprising that a hunting enthusiast like his former owner passed him on. From the cabled account of the A.J.C. Steeplechase, he finished very solidly on Saturday to overhaul, and beat the lightweight Ego. I . Crown Area, when trained by G. .New, •jrroved hmiself a master of weight, and the welter racejiteif.andwick wiwTnturday would have suited him to a nicety. That he could carry 9.12 and win over a mile in lmin 38% sec gives some indication o£ the superior condition of Australian tracks at this time of year as compared with those in New. Zealand. Eden Hall continues to run useful races in Sydney. The cast-off from J. T. Jamieson's stable beat all but the winner over a mile'and five furlongs on Saturday. Although Fujisah is rising ten, he still has'to be reckoned with over short courses. Fujisah has been one of the best of Australia's sprinters during ' the last few years, carrying weight with the best. J. Pike, who rode him on Saturday, has been associated with many of his successes.
