One was a studious, hard: work- ; ing man; the other had never looked t at a medical book in his life, and never , cared if his patients got well or died. , If a patient got better, ho was well . paid, and if he died his heirs paid double. They thumped the king's chest till '■ he was out of breath. Then the learned one said: "You:are as sound as a nut!" "Cheek and impudence! Hang him up!" yelled the king in a rage. The other said that if the king slept one night in the shirt of a happy man \ he would get better. The king sent courtiers far and near to try and find a really happy man. In their wanderings they came across two men Weeping.- One- was crying because , his wife had died, and the other was crying because his hadn't. At last, after many weary months of travelling, they , came across a beggar rolling''On the grass, gurgling with laughter. "Are you nappy?" asked one of tho courtiers, politely.
