SEQUEL TO COLLISION
CLAIM FOR DAMAGES
As ;i result oF a collision between two motor-cars at 11.20 p.m. on the sth March, at Upper Hutt, a claim for damages was heard in the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M. John Black claimed £74 3s 7d: for damapes to his car, personal injuries, and loss of wages, and Ernest. Williams,:driver of the car, claimed £22 10s 6d for personal injuries and loss of wages. The defendant was Mrs. H.-L. Watson, of Aiatarawa, and the driver of the car was her son, R. S. Flegeltaub. ...-'. Mr. W. H. Cunningham appeared for plaintiffs, and Mr. W. E. Leicester for the defendant. ■ . . . '
it was alleged by the plaintiffs that Flegeltaiib was driving in the middle of the road, and that the,.-collision was due to his negligence, in that he was travelling on his wrong side. ,: The defence was a denial that Flegeltaub alone was to blame. It was contended that the collision was due to negligence on both sides, in that the driver of the plaintiffs' car could have avoided the accident if he had been keeping a proper look-out. Mr. Woodward reserved his decision.
