LONDON, 29th May

The discovery of an unknown mountain about 23,000 feet high converging in a serene stately summit of purest snow, whfch the Kinchenjuuga expedition named Madonna Peak, is recorded.

Alone, presumably owing to tho runners' difficulties in Kang Pass, Dr. Dyrenfurth, leader of the expedition, had a lucky escape. While climbing an ice wall he "fell into a snow-covered crevasse, but was pulled out.
