PRICE OF BUTTER
MARKET STILL WEAK
(Received 30th May, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 29th May. The butter market continues dull. Danish is selling at 131s per cwt; choicest salted New Zealnnd. 125s to 1265; exceptional lines, 128s; Australian, 124s to 1265. Unsalted New Zealand, 110s to 140s; Australian, 126s to 128s. Cheese is slow of sale. New Zealand white, 765; coloured, 82s.
Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd-, have received the following market report from Messrs. Trengrouse and Nathan, Ltd., London, dated 28th May:—New Zealand butter, 126s per cwt; New Zealand cheese, white 75s per cwt, coloured 83s per cwt; both markets weak. Messrs. A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received cabled advice dated 29th May from Messrs. J. and J. Lonsdale and Co., Ltd., London: "Butter: Market weaker, buyers indifferent. Cheese: A little more inquiry at lower price." Mr. G. A Mills is advised, London, 29th May:—"Butter is in very slow demand. Cheese market is very quiet.'' Messrs. Dalgety are advised by Messrs. Samuel Page aud Son, London, 29th May, that cheese buyers are' holding off. The firms are all advised of prices as follows: Danish butter, 130s to 1325; New Zealand finest salted, 124s to 1265; Australian finest uusalted, 122s to 1265; salted, 122s to 124|. ' Cheese: Australian cheese, white, 70s;, New Zealand, white 74s to 70s, coloured 80s to 82s; spot Canadian, white 90s to 105s, coloured 91s to 104s. Buyers holding off."' . '
