STAR COMET AMISS

POURI AND KAWINI UNDER, SUSPICION (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day. . The latest development in connection with the Great Northern events is that all-is not well with Star Comet, who had a seizure when taken to the course at Te Rapa to work to-day and could not be worked.' It is stated that the horse commenced to stagger and show other signs of being off colour, and his trainer, A. P. Brady, was at a loss to 'account for the trouble. Dr. W. C. Ring, of Auckland, was summoned to attend Star Comet. . Star Comet'has been a staunch favourite for the Great Northern Hurdles- for some weeks past, and the news that he is under a cloud will be disconcerting to his army of admirers. It will be extremely unfortunate if Star Come.t is unable" to keep his engagement nest week, for his absence would rob the race of a good deal of interest. ■ ' ' !' Moreover, with Pouri and Kawini under suspicion for unsoundness, there is a possibility of the field being further reduced. Another interesting item to report is the arrival of1 Aurora Borealis, who reached Ellerslie to-day. Aurora Borealis is a strong fancy for both the Great Northern events, and she is bound to- attract plenty of attention when she comes out to work, as this is her first visit to Ellerslie.
