(By Teleeraph.—Press Association.) PALMEBSTON S"., This Day.. A conference of local bodies is being held to-day to consider boundaries for a regional planning area having Palmerston North as its. focal point. A large number of delegates met a committee sot up to tour the Dominion and hear evidenco to determine the constitution of region planning areas. Addressing the conference, Mr. Mawson, Director of Town Planning, said the regional schemes would not involve heavy expenditure. Surveys only were provided for, and tho cost of preparation was definitely limited to a small levy on the contributing local, bodies. The conference area generally agreed upon waa the counties of Pohangina, Kiwitea," Oroua, Manawatu, Kairanga, Horowhenua, Dannevirkc, "Woodville, and Pahiatua, with the intervening boroughs and town boards. Tho chairman said that after the evidence had been reviewed and the boundaries resolved upon, they would be submitted to those concerned for comment.
