"It will be remembered," says the report, "that last year our ■ indebtedness to the bank was £2837 10s. This year, after, paying all outstanding accounts, wo owo £2545 10s 3d. We have again made every effort to reduce this by holding functions of all sorts. Wo have, met with a good response from all our friends, but wo do not reduce the debt sufficiently by those means. Much time and thought has been given to tho matter, and at present consideration is being given to other means of paying it ofi. There is one way in which our numerous friends could help still more, that is by becoming annual sub-' scribors. Even if tho subscription is small it is most gratefully accepted." Thanks arc given for tho substantial help received from the iMacarthy Trust, tho Social Service Board of the Church, and the Government. Thanks aro also extended to all those who have assisted the homes, Dr. Agnes Bennett and Dr. Campbell Young for medical attention, Mr. Spmmerville, .Mr. Fairchild, and the Dental Clinic for attention to the (children'a teeth, and Dr. Dymoek for auditing accounts; also to Miss Baber and Marsden School for the bazaar held in aid of St. Mary's; Mrs. G'inn, who gives the girls singing lessons; Captain Crease and Lieutenant Porter for help with-Girl Guides; tho Commercial Travellers' and Motor Traders' Associations, the D.1.C., the Automobile Club, and the Press, and all who helped with Christmas gifts.
