WELLINGTON- TEAM,

The senior A selector (Mr. H. Hatch) advised the Management Committee of the Wellington Hockey Association last evening that the following team had been selected to represent Wellington against the combined University players at 10 a.m. ion 3rd June at the Basin Reserve: Goal,' E. Guy (Wellington); full-backs, Martis (Wellington), K. l'crrin (Kavori); halves,Joblin (Wellington), Mahoncy (Wellington), Pyle ; forwards, Roberts- (Karon), Cohen (V.M.C.A.). Robb (Karori), R.. Lusty (Wellington), Phillpotts (Wesley). Emergencies: Moore (goal), Spiers, Falconer (full-backs), E. M'Leod (half),. Rowse (forward). ! _ Mahoney was appointed captain and Lusty vice-captain. . It was agreed that as-the match was in the nature of a try-oiit for the Wellington team, in view of the Shield fixture, no representative badges should be awarded. Mr. N. j. Lewis was appointed manager of the team. The Hutt and Wellington Clubs were granted permission to send four teams and three teams respectively to the five-a-side tournament at Feilding on 3rd June. "The secretary (Mr. R. H. Boys) reported -that the majority of the clubs were in favour of the proposal to increase the ground fees to provide the nucleus of a fund for the purchase' of additional grounds.. It was decided that those cluba averse to the proposal 6hould be written to again', and that those which appeared to ,favour the idea but which would not commit tliemselves should be advised of the exact amount of the proposed increase.

Mr.- Lewis "complained that the senior' B match played.at Kilbirnie on Saturday concluded-in the -dark owing to the early game having: finished well after the usual time. It was resolved to write to the Referees' Association pointing out the necessity of'starting games on time. , The curtain-raiser to the game on 3rd June was given to the Wellington ladies and the ladies who are visiting Wellington in connection- with the inter-University tournament. • '
