ROYAL ELM SCHOOLED
Among tho horses schooled over hurdles at Bandwick last Wednesday was the New Zealander Koyal Elm. He jumped three hurdles satisfactorily. Uoyal Elm was1 brought to Sydney in company with Goshawk and Merry Mint by J. M. Cameron, and he is engaged in the Australian ■ Jockey Club Hurdle Bace, with 9st 41b. He', was ridden when schooled by B. Brown, who recently received a jockey's licence from the A.J.C; Brown served his apprenticeship with his father, W[, H. Brown, at Adelaide. Brown, .senior, has won a number of races with jumpers, and since the lad, received a licence in South Australia he has ridden several winners on the flat and over jumps. He is a lightweight so far as hurdle riders arc concerned,' and he can go to scale at Sst 71b. Ho will most likely ride Eoyal Elm at Warwick Farm next Saturday, says tho, "Sydney Mail."
