WELLINGTON IN FORM

Contrary to expectations, Wellington had matters , all their own way aguinst Wesley, and won by 7 goals to nil. From the initial bully, Wellington attacked, but mi almost certain goal was averted by the ball striking the Wesley goalkeepers shoulder. Shortly afterwards, Wellington were given a corner, and E. Lusty opened the score. Wesley retaliated with a strong passing rush, but found the opposing halves too strong, and Wellington soon I came back, Burton sending in •■ a shot which trickled into the net. ' The next fewminuteß were all in ■ Wellington s favour, and Lusty and Burton each added a goal. The Wesley forwards were given good support by the halves, but . were either unlucky' or inaccurate with their goal shots. Shortly before • half-time, Lusty,' with a .characteristic, run ■ from the half-way line, beat the* opposition and made the-score 5-0. After the Wesley played with somewhat better combination,'and Freethy and Hiillpotts both kept Guy, in ■Wellington's goal, on the alert. Before long, however, Wellington again pressed, and Flack scored a beautiful goal to cap an attractive passing rush. Hookham, the Wesley left-wing, was doing good work, and Freethy would probably have scored it' he could have got to one of his centres in time. Vhillpotts and Rowse also kept on the ball, .but without success. With a few minutes to go, Wellington forced the pace, and W. Hood sent the ball in with a shot which gave Dykes no chance. The referees were Dr. A.*l'\ liickey and "Air. C. Whyte.
