BIG SCORING.

Hospital received a surprise on Saturday in their game against Marist. The better team in the first half, Hospital at half-time had a lead of 2-0. The second half was Marist's, and their forwards who were in scoring mood, netted six goals, while Hospital's total reached .only four.

The teams were: — Marist: Fitzgerald; Gamble, Wilson; Quirke, Hindle, Duffy; Barton, M. Condon, W. Condon, Marshment, Cudby. Hospital: Ell; Miles, Thompson; Jeffreys, Trewiek, Woods; Marshall, Campbell, Gibb, White, Lambert. Hospital kicked off with a cross wind slightly in their favour. They attacked from the beginning, and throughout the half had the better of. the play. Their first goal' came at the end of a long onslaught on the Marist goal, Gibb netting with a low cross drive. Hospital 1, Marist 0. Marist kept the Hospital defenders busy,, but the persistent attack-of the Hospital forwards could not be withstood, and soon they were through again, White scoring with a lucky shot just inside the post.' Hospital 2, Marist 0. Before half-time was called, both sets of forwards had scoring chances and missed them. Hospital's hopes ran high, when, within two minutes of the start of the second half, Gibb scored an easy goal from a penalty for "hands." Hospital 3, Marist ,0. Then a change came over the Marist forwards, and their play which had hitherto been, rather careless, became more careful and determined. Barton and W. Condon were responsible for Marist's first goal. The winger secured, sprinted up the line, and centred beautifully to Condon, who headed the ball into the net. Hospital 3, Marist 1. A periods of up and down play followed, with Marist becoming more dangerous every minute. Eventually Marslimerrt shot from a melee in the goal-mouth when Ell had been tempted out. Hospital 3, Marist 3. The next fifteen minutes was the best part of the game. To Marist came the next goal,' Cudby swinging the ball into M. Condon, whose close .range shot gave Ell no chance.
