MAKING GOOD SPEED

SOUTH ATLANTIC FLIGHT

WELL PAST CANARIES

United Press Association—By Electric Tele-

graph —Copyright.

NEW YOBK, 20th May

The Graf Zeppelin, which is flying from Germany to South America, passed over Uie Canary Islands at 3.40 p.m. New York standard time. She continues to make good speed through favourable warm'weather towards Peruambuco, where she . hopes to arrive ou Thursday morning. Some slight difficulty was experienced with squally side winds, but the passengers were comfortable, and took numerous photographs.

Tho latest reports concerning the airship indicate that there has been some confusion in the timing of t^io flight due to the airship's change of course in the neighbourhood of the Canaries to avoid bad weather and an attempt to reach the trade winds westward of the' Ganaries. The airship is now presumably well past the islands, and is proceeding for Pernambuco at 70 miles an hour. .
