FLOWED GARDEN.
Gather up all fallen leaves and place in heap- to rot down for manure. Eemovo all spent annuals, and after digging and manuring the ground vacated replant with uardy seedlings. Plant carnations in open positions where the soil is well drained. Plant out cyclamens, cinerarias, stocks, wallflowers, primroses, polyanthuses, "sweet peas, Iceland poppies, primula malacoides, and gaillardias. Sow mignonette, Virginia stock, larkspur, calendulas, nemophilia, candytuft, goditia, eschscholtzias, and silene. VEGETABLE GARDEN. Plant out* cabbage, cauliflower, and lettuce. Sow broad beans and onions, also carrots; lettuce, spinach, and parsley. Draw up the soil round celery and leeks to blanch tho stems. Cabbage and cauliflower also benefit if the soil is drawn up along the rows. Harvest all pumpkins and marrows before frosts set in. . Get all vacant- ground dug over and limed or manured. Keep seedling crops free from weeds, and thin out in the early stages.
