On the eve of the first National Safety Week to be held throughout Britain the toll of the roads at the week-end was one of the heaviest recorded The fatalities include a husband, wife, three-year-old son, and wife's mother, all killed when their car skidded and collided with an empty bus near Wakefleld. In another crash at Wolverhampton a father and mother were killed and two children, injured when a motor-cycle and sidecar overturned.
