BUSES AND-EXHAUSTS
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—Some months ago I had reason t<? express', through.your.columns,'a protest at the loud exhaust noises from the council motor-buses, particularly those; engaged on the Karori run. For some time after, thealo noises were not heard. • However, for a fortnight or more now some-of the drivers have again evinced indifference to the feelings o£ their customers along their route by again permitting shocking exhaust noises on the down-grades. I'am informed by a motor expert that by displaying ordinary driving ability, viz., proper attention to the ignition and carburettor when "coasting," required of all motor vehicle drivers, the "blurting ot the exhaust may be eliminated. Perhaps I could again ask your indulgence m publishing : this -with a view to the abatement of the nuisance.—l am, etc.,
CIVICTJS.
