•AUCKLAND THEATRE VENTURE
(By Telegraph.)
(Special to "The Evening Post.")
AUCKLAND, This Day,
An innovation for Auckland is a talking picture theatre which will screen nothing but British films. The idea emanates from Mrs. Henry HayTvard, who has decided to ruu' ■ the Grand Theatre in Queen street as a British picture house as from next Friday. There are 47 theatres in Auckland, and Mrs.. Hayward is of the opinion, that with such a large population there should be room for at least one house devoted exclusively to British pictures.
The supply of British films is scarcely sufficient to provide weekly changes, so the management has decided that ■when necessary programmes will run longer than, a week. It is anticipated that there will be no difficulty in this respect,- as the theatre is a small one.
