DEATH AFTER HEAD INJURY

CHPJSTCHUECH, This Day, An accident which happened, on 3rd August last year is believed to have caused the death of Arnold John Bennett, aged 21, who died in the Christohurch Hospital on Saturday night. He was riding a motor-cycle at night in the Taitapu district, when. he was involved in a collision. He was admitted to the hospital with a fractured skull, and was a patient until 23rd September. He was then dischai'ged as apparently quite well, but in March a swelling appeared over his1 left eye, and gradually became bigger. On ISth April ho was re-adnvitted to the hospital and it was found that an abscess had formed and was' pressing on the. brain at tho .site of the fracture. He was operated on, but after showing a slight improvement, gradually sank and died. An inquest will probably be held to-day.
