SHOP BURGLARIES
CHARGES AGAINST YOUTHS

' CHRISTCHUKCH, This Day. Alleged to be concerned in shop burglarjies at Fendaltou and elsewhere, three youths, aged 17, whose names were ordered to be suppressed, were charged this morning with having broken and entered a shop in Lin wood avenue yesterday, and stealing goods. They were remanded until 27th May, the police stating that fifteen other charges were to be gone into. t 7 The arrest was brought about, it is stated, by a motorist who noticed a youth lurking in the doorway of a shop. The motorist returned to the central police station and picked up a party of police. Tho youth had disappeared from tho shop doorway, but three lads wore found at the corner of Linwood avenue and' Cashcl street. In their pockets were found a, hammer and a tire lever. ' ■, • ■■. According to a statement made today, electric torches and other material alleged to have been stolen were also found.
