Summing up the game at Richmond (England) in March, in which Guy's Hospital (for whom the present president of the Wellington Rugby Union, Dr. P. F. M'Evedy, played at one time) defeated St. Bartholomew's for the Hospitals' Cup, an English wrirer wrote the following': "Altogether it was i a. match crowded with incident. JS j reputations, perhaps, were made, but there was an abundance of- thrills, pluck, dash, sportsmanship—in fact, most of the qualities that can adorn a game of Rugby between thirty fit, eager young men." The training of the London metropoli-1 tan police is so thorough that they are even required to master the art of properly blowing their whistles.
