TEA SITUATION.
A meeting of tea packers was held in Wellington this week to consider, among other thingef, the situation created by retailers buying in bulk, which they evidently find more profitable than the packeted high grade lines. The New Zealand market of late years has increased its demand for so-called common teas, which appear to satisfactorily meet the demand .of consumers with limited means. On the other hand, it id reported in the trade that with teas the price they are in countries of origin, particularly Ceylon, and controlled output, there is practically no margin left on present prices for most standard packeted New Zealand lines.
