"FAGGING"
(To the Editor.) ' Sir, —In l-efcrcnce to the statement- in" your sub-leader yesterday that" "no New Zealanders have experience of fagging," I think you must bciinder a misapprehension. I can speak with certainty of one New.Ztialand public school,1 viz., Christ's College, which is generally supposed to be modelled on Eton (and I believe there are several others) where the custom is followed. My boys were boarders at this school' for some years, and each in turn had to act as "fag" to the prefect at the time of his joining. I need hardly say that I never heard of the system being abused—in fact, .my youngest son is now a close pal of the prefect to* whom he acted as "fag" wheD joining the school.—l am,, etc.,' "GILBEETUS." 13th May.
