WEDDINGS
The wedding was recently solemnised at St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral of Irene,, elder daughter of Mrs. and the. late Mr. A. Searlo, of Wellington, and Luatham Elgin, second son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Duncan, of Auckland. The Bey. Percival James was the officiating minister. The bride, who. was accompanied by her,uncle, Mr. W. Lark, wore a charming frock of ivory georgette'over pale pink, appliqued with pastel shades of taffetas, gracefully draped to the anklel Her veil formed a tram, and was fastened on either side of the head with orange blossoms, and she carried a sheaf of pink gladioli and roses. The bridesmaids were Misses Melba Duncan and Yvonne Jaques-Blackmore, both wearing graceful frocks of (salmon pink floral taffetas with felt hats .to-'tone, and carrying sheaves of autumn tint gladioli and roses. The little flowergirl, Barbara M'Cartney, was daintily dressed in pale pink georgette, and carried a basket o^pink and heliotrope sweetpeas, and. Master Robert Lark, as page, wore a cream satin suit. Mr. J. Hinton-Ottoway was best liian, and Mr. J. Kirkpatrick . groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Basin • Reserve Pavilion.; Mrs. Searle, who received the guests,' wore' a frock of black georgette with a floral georgette, coatee, and hat to, match, and carried a bouquet of red roses and maidenhair. Later the bride and bridegroom left by car for a tour of the North Island, the- brido wearing a Lido blue crepe satin frock with hat to match. . ' .
