CHARGE ADMITTED
BREAKING AND ENTERING
HOLE IN A WINDOW

In the Magistrate's Court, Thomas Melrose and..- Nelson Hayes were charged, with breaking and entering by .night the premises of Thomas Ireton, jeweller, Cuba street, with intent to .commit a crime. Giving evidence, Mr. Ireton stated that a hole was* made in a plate-glass window on the nig Jit of 9th May, Lrat so far as he knew nothing was stolon. Constable Thompson desposed to ■seeing the accused in' the street on the night of the- occurrence. When spoken to in the street they denied knowledge of the affair, but afterwards at the police station admitted the offence.
The accused pleaded guilty, and were committed1 to the 'Supreme Court for sentence. ' ;
