V.M.C.A. BANQUET
The "Mother and Son" Banquet held at the V.M.C.A. on Saturday night was largely attended. The guest of honour was the Rev. David Jones, M.A., president ot the Wellington Ministers' Association. At-1 teiv the banquet the mothers were introduced by their ■ sons, and the toast of •'Mother" was proposed by Jack Denby. the response was made by Mrs. B; Y. Redward. References to the excellent work of the Y.M.O.A. were made by the Rev. David Jones.' Mr. A. Steptoe, boys' work secretary, gave an encouraging report of the progress made, and said they promised to ha,Ve a winter season of exceptional activity In addition to community songs, item's were contributed by Miss Madge Freeman and Mr. C. E. Gardiner. Mr. L. Denby presided at the piano.
