NAVA? CONFERENCE

RETURN OF FRErOH

STIMSON REDUCTION

British Official Wireless. (Received 7th March, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, 6th March. , M. Tardicu's new Government having obtained a vote of confidence with a majority of 53 in the French Chamber last night, the French delegation to the Naval Conference will arrive in London to-night. The full work of the Conference will be resumed to-morrow morning when the heads of all the delegations will again meet, while tho First Committee in the afternoon will receive the report of the Export Committee on special vessels. American newspapers to-day published a report from Mr. Stimsou, referring to tho suggestion that the Confer- j ence may lead to an increase rather than a reduction of the world's navies. He says that a plan which, in its essentials, appears acceptable to both the American and British delegations provides for a net reduction of tonnage in the American fleet, biiilt or building, of over 200,000 tons, aad a larger reduction on the part of the British Fleet. These reductions, he adds, are, of course, contingent on some reductions being made in. the fleets of other Powers.
