BIG SAVING IN LABOUR
(Received 7th March, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 6th March. ' The progress of pulverised coal apparatus for ships' boilers is marked by the Hororata's departure for Nsw Zealand with all except one boiler fired by an' automatic process. She has already made two voyages with half her boilers heated by pulverised coal. It is now hoped that five will do the work of sjx boilers. She will need twelve fewer stokers, l^t is estimated that tho new system will save £5000 a year.
