SPEEDWAY RACING
TO-MORROW'S CONTESTS.
Two more of Australia's leading speedway riders will be making their first appearance at the Kilbirnie Stadium Speedway to-morrow night, and since both ot them are on the scratch mark m Australia, they should account for some notable performances on the local track. The latest visitors are J. Holhs ( ihe Elying Scotsman") and R. Blake, and both have had a long string of successes onNew South Wales tracks. In one of the bi" contests to-morrow night they will be matched with W. Kilmister, who can be depended upon to test the Australians to the full. It is expected that there will be more of the thrilling battles on the bends such as those which took place last Saturday night, and the prospects are that the racing throughout the meeting will be keener than ever. Most of the events are to be from a rolling start, but there will be an open handicap in which the back-markers will require to be at their best in order to win places. The spectacular broadsider, E. Whittle, who recently defeated M. Graham, will be reappearing, and one of his events will be a special contest with two of the most improved local riders, W. B. Harvie and T. Wilkinson. Second division competitors should be seen to much better advantage than usual, as the event for them will be conducted under rolling start conditions. In honour of the visit of J. Hollis, there will be a parade of the Wel^ lhigton Caledonian Pipe Band to-night, and pipers will be present at the Stadium tomorrow night. Other information ;s given elsewhere.
